Syria {Damascus}
A rectangular stone paste border tile painted in underglaze blue, sage green and manganese purple against a white ground. The entire tile taken up with a bold intamani design. A bright turquoise band and two thin parallel black lines complete a border ont he two horizontal edges.
16th century.
