Tile 24.

Syria.

A square stone paste tile with a split-leaf palmette design painted in underglaze blue, turquoise, and black. with a transparent glaze. This tile is similar to others from the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem and were part of the refurbishment of the mosque in the mid 16th century ordered by the Ottoman Emperor Suleyman the Magnificent.
